CSI Seminar – May 2nd, 2015

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ –

1 Peter 5:8 says “Be self controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.” We need only to watch the news or read the papers to realize the truth of this scripture. As Christians and disciples of Jesus Christ, while we strive not to be of the world we are in this world and not immune from its violence. Even in our churches as we worship our Lord or share the love of Christ in fellowship with our brothers and sisters in the faith we are vulnerable to the evil around us that could violate our sanctuaries.

How can we protect our churches from violence? We can’t, but we can be proactive – as watchmen on the wall (Isaiah 62:6) or as shepherds protecting the flock. Security awareness is important.  On Saturday, May 2, Fairhope United Methodist Church in co-operation with local law enforcement, will host “The Brewster Group” (retired secret service agents), who will present a CSI (Church Security Insights) seminar. Today our churches are seen as soft targets for disruption and violence for whatever the reason be it domestic, religious, ethnic, social, political, drug related, etc. Learn how to recognize and avoid these potential dangers that could threaten our sanctuaries.

Fairhope United Methodist is excited to host this very informative 4-5 hour long CSI seminar in our Christian Life Center on Saturday, May 2nd at 8:00 am sharp. This is a FREE seminar with a love offering taken at the door to defray seminar expenses. As the Lord is our shepherd, let’s help Him protect His flock by making every effort to have your church represented with two people from each security emphasis ; your pastors, security teams, ushers, greeters, church staff and church leaders, nursery workers, etc.. (Nehemiah 4:9 Matthew 10:16)

Please call Fairhope United Methodist Church at 251.928.1148 to make reservations with the name of your church and number of people attending. Thank you for your attention to this church security issue.
